OTT - Commercialization Process

Following the Temple's election to pursue an invention, the Office of Technology Transfer will begin the commercialization process by determining the appropriate path to market. OTT seeks to license the Temple's intellectual property rights to a company in exchange for royalties, licensing fees, and other forms of compensation for such rights. Based on the invention, intellectual property protection and market, commercial partners may include startup, small, or large companies.

The Office of Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Partnerships (OSI) facilitates the creation of new startup companies. These companies are developed to a stage appropriate for entering into a commercial agreement with the Temple. If licensing to an established company, OTT develops marketing materials and identifies target companies to explore partnership opportunities.
