LIQUID BREATHING: Novel System for the Treatment of Advanced Respiratory Disorders
Liquid ventilation products have been developed for the treatment of advanced respiratory disorders. Over 20 years of research and a strong patent portfolio have uniquely positioned this technology to address unmet needs for neonatal, pediatric and adult intensive care units to treat lung conditions.
The standard treatment for severe lung dysfunction is mechanical ventilation-often insufficient therapy that can cause further lung damage. Liquid ventilation provides extraordinary gas exchange and blood oxygenation, reduction of lung inflammation, and the ability to deliver drugs directly through the lung. A short time to market can bring this technology to patients within three to five years.
The technology is based on extensive research by renowned researchers Drs. Marla Wolfson and Thomas Shaffer-both widely recognized for their creation of total liquid ventilation and as the world's foremost authorities in the application and use of perfluorocarbon liquids for treating respiratory diseases.
