Please stay tuned for future career opportunities available for Postdoctoral Fellows in various state of the art research laboratories at Temple University.
Post-Doctoral Position in Science Education (Biology)
Post doctoral position immediately available with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute-funded Minority K-12 Initiative for Teachers and Students, "Teacher Labs Promote Minority Student Bioscience Inquiry," (www.temple.edu/crhde/BioQ). This is a study in Philadelphia public schools on the impact of a labs-based teacher professional development program on teachers' pedagogical content knowledge and ultimately their students' achievement, attitudes, and plans for college and careers. Teachers participating in this study are learning to teach with technology-enhanced, inquiry-based biology curricula we designed and have previously researched (New Directions in Teaching and Learning. 2006, 108:77-91). Required qualifications include a recent PhD in science education, learning sciences, sociology, psychology, or a related field. Ideal candidates will have strong quantitative skills, including regression and linear mixed-effects modeling. Ideal candidates will also have human biology coursework and teaching experience. Appointments are full-time, 12-month positions for a maximum of 2 years, renewable at the end of the first year. To apply, please forward a cover letter stating research objectives, curriculum vita, and names and contact information for 3 references to David E. Kanter, Ph.D., Temple University, College of Education, 440 Ritter Hall, 1301 Cecil B. Moore Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19122. Email: dkanter@temple.edu.
